Our ecolojical foot print is a threat to our survival .

Ecological footprint is the amount of land and sea each person needs to provide the food ,clothes and other products they consume and to absorb the carbon dioxide they emit .consumerism and the modern pattern of consumption if fast depleting the earth of its resourses so much and so that by 2030 we will require one more earth .
As reported by "Living planet "human demands on natural resources have doubled during the last 50 yrs .The populations of wild life species has reduced by 60% in the last three decades in the tropics .
To sustain our present life style we would require 2.75 earths .
According to WWF,the Zoological society of London and the Global foot print network UAE ,Quatar Denmark ,Belgium and the US were the five worst countries for overconsumption of resources .Ireland has the 10th and Britain had the 31 st highest ecological footprint .
8000 populations of 2500 species were studied by experts .The change in land use and water consumption across the globe was recorded .
That reminds us Gandhi who said mother earth can fulfil the needs of everyone but the greed of none .
