Could diabetes be the result of a serious ailment like septecaemia ,meningitis(An inflammation of the meninges due to infection by viruses or becteria or fungi .) ,typhoid ,Paraplegia (Paraysis of both legs ,usually due to disease or injury of the spinal cord .),for the simpil reason that one is confined to bed in these ailments devoid of an active routine or exercise of any kind .
The answer is a no for all those who are neither in the high risk group nor prediabetic . But if there is a history or the petient has a life style which is not healthy the answer may be diabetes will be hastened .
