People afflicted with schizophrenia often resists treatment.They believe that their Delusions and or Hallucinations are real ,for if they know they are not real they are not hallucinations/delusions .
So a friend (closer to the person )and or a family member have to pursue them and when persuasion fails have to take action to keep their loved ones safe .Oftentimes sedation breaks the resistance offered by the patient but has to be done by a mental health provider /professional, at home .
