श्रीमदभगवद गीता अध्याय तीन :श्लोक २७
सभी कर्म प्रकृति करती है
प्रकृते : क्रियमाणानि ,गुणे: कर्माणि सर्वश :
अहंकारविमूढात्मा ,कर्ताहं इति मन्यते।

prakriteh-of material nature ;kriyamanani -carried out ;gunaih -by the three modes ;karmani -activities;sarvashah -all kinds of ;ahankara -vimudha-atma-those who are bewilderd by the ego and misidentify themselves with the body ;karta -the doer ;aham-I;iti -thus;manyate -thinks
वास्तव में सारे संसार के कार्य प्रकृति माँ के गुणरुपी परमेश्वर की शक्ति के द्वारा किये जाते हैं ,परन्तु अज्ञानवश मनुष्य अपने आपको ही कर्ता समझ लेता है (तथा कर्मफल की आसक्तिरुपी बन्धनों से बंध जता है। मनुष्य तो परम शक्ति के हाथ की कठपुतली मात्र है ).
ईश्वर सब कर्मों का कर्ता है। सब कुछ प्रभु की इच्छा के अधीन है। व्यक्ति स्वयं की मृत्यु के प्रति भी स्वतन्त्र नहीं है। व्यक्ति तब तक प्रभुदर्शन नहीं कर सकता ,जब तक वह यह सोचता है कि मैं ही कर्ता हूँ। ईश्वर की कृपा से उसे यदि यह अनुभूति हो जाती है कि वह कर्ता नहीं है ,तो वह जीवन मुक्त हो जाता है। हमीं कर्ता हैं ,हमीं भोक्ता हैं ,ऐसा विचार कर्म बंधन को जन्म देता है। आत्मज्ञानी और साधारण व्यक्ति के द्वारा किया गया एक ही काम भिन्न भिन्न परिणाम देता है। आत्मज्ञानी द्वारा किया गया कर्म आध्यात्मिक हो जाता है और कर्मबंधन को जन्म नहीं देता है,क्योंकि आत्मज्ञानी स्वयं को कर्ता या भोक्ता नहीं मानता। सामान्य -जन द्वारा किया गया काम कर्मबंधन को जन्म देता है।
All activities are carried by the three modes of material nature .But in ignorance ,the soul ,deluded by false identification with the body ,thinks itself to be the doer.
We can see that natural phenomena of the world are not directed by us ,but are performed by prakriti ,or Mother Nature .Now ,for the actions of our own body ,we usually divide them into two categories :
(1)Natural biological functions ,such as digestion ,blood circulation ,heartbeat ,etc ,which we do not consciously execute but which occur naturally .
(2)Actions such as speaking ,hearing ,walking ,sleeping ,working etc .that we think we perform .
Both these categories of work are performed by the mind -body mechanism .All the parts of this mechanism are made from prakriti ,or the material energy ,which consists of the three modes (gunas )-goodness(sattva ),passion (rajas ),and ignorance (tamas ).Just as waves are not seprate from the ocean ,but a part of it ,similarly the body is a part of Mother Nature from which it is created .Hence ,material energy is the doer of everything.
Why then does the soul perceive itself to be doing activities ?The reason is that ,in the grip of the unforgiving ego ,the soul falsely identifies itself with the body .Hence ,it remains under the illusion of doership .Let us say their are two trains standing side by side on the railway platform ,and a passenger on one train fixes his gaze on the other .When the second train moves ,it seems the first is moving .Likewise the immobile soul identifies with the mobility of prakriti .Thus the moment the soul eliminates the ego and surrenders to the will of God ,it realizes as the non -doer.
One may question that if the soul is truly the non -doer ,then why it is implicated in law of karma for actions performed by the body ?The reason is that the soul does not pull the chariot himself ,but he does direct the actions of the sense -mind intellect .For example the chariot driver does not pull the chariot himself ,but he does direct the horses .Now ,if their is any accident ,it is not the horses that are blamed ,but the driver who was directing them .Similarly ,the soul is held responsible for the actions of the mind -body mechanism because the sense -mind -intellect work on receiving inspiration from the soul .
सभी कर्म प्रकृति करती है
