गहो रे मन श्याम चरण शरणाई
O mind ! Take shelter of Shyamsundar's lotus feet .
अंत समय कोई काम न अइहैं ,मात पिता सुत भाई।
At the time of death ,none of your worldly relatives like mother
,father ,brother and son ,will come to your help .
काम ,क्रोध अरु लोभ ,मोह ,मद इन सों कछु न बसाई।
Lust ,anger ,greed ,attachment and pride -do not harbor any of these .
यह जग मृग तृष्णा सम दीखत ,सुख लवलेश न पाई।
This world is like a mirage .You can not find even a drop of happiness here .
धन यौवन तन छन भंगुर सब ,ज्यों कपूर उडि जाई।
Wealth ,youth and bodily beauty are transient ,disappearing into
thin air like camphor .
बहुरि 'कृपालु ' न नर तन पाइय ,बिगरी लेहु बनाई।
Says Shree 'Kripalu ' ,"O' mind ! You will not receive this human
body again and again ;so surrender to
Shree Krishna immediately and mend your eternally ruined fortune ."

श्यामसुन्दर हमारो यार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
Shree Krishna is my Beloved .I am most eager to have a glimpse of him .
जिनके सिर मोर मुकुट राजै ,गोरोचन तिलक भाल भ्राजै
He wears a peacock feather crown on his head .He has a sandalwood and saffron tilak on his forehead.
लटकारी ,घनी ,घुंघरार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
I am eager to have a glimpse of Shree Krishna ,who has thick and curly hair .
जिनके कानन कुंडल हलकै , नैनन बिच प्रेम -सुधा छलकै ,
He wears shining earrings .His eyes are overflowing with the nectar of divine love .
नाक बेसर सुघर ,छबिदार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
I am eager to have glimpse of Shree Krishna ,who wears a beautiful ,enchanting nose pearl .
जिनकी चंचल चितवन बांकी ,मुरि मुरी मृदु मुसकनि की झांकी ,
He has a slanting and lovingly restless glance .His mild and gentle smile is very attractive .
वनमाला गले रिझवार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
I am eager to have a glance of Shree Krishna ,who wears a garland of many beautiful flowers around his
neck .
जिनके उर पीताम्बर फहरै ,कटि किंकिनी की धुनि चित हरै।
He wears silken yellow garments that flutter in the wind .He wears a beautiful waistband that entices the heart
with its sound .
भल कछनी कछी अरुणार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
I am eager to have a glimpse of Shree Krishna who wears a red cloth around his waist .
जिनके चरनन नूपुर बाजै ,झुकि झूमि गवनि गति गज लाजै।
The anklets on his lotus feet create a captivating sound .His graceful gait puts the elegant elephants to shame .
तान मुरली 'कृपालु 'बलिहार ,लखन को जिया ललके।
Says Shree 'Kripalu',I am most eager to have a glimpse of Shree Krishna ,whose magical flute sound fills the
heart with ecstasy .I am willing to sacrifice my everything upon it .
